This is the story of my virtual life.

My name is Pippi Poleni, today I’m 19 and I’m living la vida loca in Second Life. Never heard of? Second Life is an online multimedia platform that allows people to create an avatar for themselves and have a second life in an online virtual world. Developed and owned by the San Francisco-based firm Linden Lab and launched in 2003, it saw rapid growth for some years and in 2013 it had approximately one million regular users.

In 2022 my avatar is already unbelievable 14 years old. As I got older and my priorities shifted to Real Life, so did my avatar. Every now and then I’m still online and dive into the virtual world that gave me so many great memories. Here I share my experiences with you – very old and very current.

I have occasional support from Faye Foxley and Shavina Hutchinson, who mainly report on SIMs (virtual countries) worth seeing and share landmarks about them.
